Air Bud

admin | July 18th, 2010

Air BudDogs are to balls as ducks are to water. They go together very well. In Air Bud, Buddy the Dog worked magic with a basketball. Along the way, Buddy also helped his young master gets out of a depression caused by the death of his father.

Buddy played a bitingly decisive role, too, in a custody case involving his former owner. All in a day’s work for a dog. A dog like Buddy, of course.

Air Buddies

admin | July 18th, 2010

Air BuddiesBuddy partnered with Molly to sire five Air Buddies, four males and one female. All five have different characteristics. When it was time for the little ones to go to different homes of their own, they decided to run away.

And that started the movie running all over the place, including through a pig sty and a winery. In the end, they each went to their new homes. Lots and lots of canine capers in this movie.

Benji The Hunted

admin | September 30th, 2010

Benji The HuntedBenji The Hunted is a movie with an all-fur cast about how Benji, a determined dog of indeterminate lineage, having been stranded in the wilderness after a shipwreck, took over as foster parent of four orphaned cougar cubs and protected them from sundry predators until he found another mother cougar to take over the job.

Very entertaining movie with many heart-stopping moments. So have your medication handy if your heart is not that robust anymore.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

admin | September 30th, 2010

Beverly Hills ChihuahuaAt first glance, Beverly Hills Chihuahua seems to be a frivolous movie about frivolous things. After all, Beverly Hills is not well-known as a center of cerebral activity and the Chihuahua is a toy dog.

Surprisingly, the movie has depth and plays on the heart-strings, too. Don’t be surprised to find a tear or two going AWOL while watching it. Even if you are not a dog-lover, you can still identify with the plight of the main characters.

Eight Below

admin | December 7th, 2010

Eight BelowLeft to fend for themselves in the frozen night of the Antarctica, eight sled-dogs had to make the best use of whatever Mother Nature provided.
Through snow and storm, these hardy dogs foraged for food to make it through the six-month-long winter night. Such was the story which carried the movie Eight Below all over the ice-floes and snow drifts that stretched further than the eye could see around a research station at the bottom of the world. Don’t take your dog to see it.

Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey

admin | January 19th, 2011

Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey How long can two dogs travel together with a cat? A very long way indeed in the movie Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey.

The dogs and the cat went over hill and dale, through thicket and rapids, just to make it home. It would certainly have been easier if they had just stayed where they were but then again, they had to get home somehow, no matter what. Don’t we all? Home is where your heart is.
