Air Bud

admin | July 18th, 2010

Air BudDogs are to balls as ducks are to water. They go together very well. In Air Bud, Buddy the Dog worked magic with a basketball. Along the way, Buddy also helped his young master gets out of a depression caused by the death of his father.

Buddy played a bitingly decisive role, too, in a custody case involving his former owner. All in a day’s work for a dog. A dog like Buddy, of course.

Air Buddies

admin | July 18th, 2010

Air BuddiesBuddy partnered with Molly to sire five Air Buddies, four males and one female. All five have different characteristics. When it was time for the little ones to go to different homes of their own, they decided to run away.

And that started the movie running all over the place, including through a pig sty and a winery. In the end, they each went to their new homes. Lots and lots of canine capers in this movie.

Bailey’s Billion $

admin | July 18th, 2010

Bailey’s Billion$Bailey, the Golden Retriever, was given a golden handshake by his dear recently departed owner, Constance Pennington, in the movie Bailey’s Billion $. A handshake to the tune of billions. Of dollars. Not exactly what Caspar, her nephew, and Dolores, his wife, would have envisaged even in their worst nightmares. So they had to find a way to undo her will, so to say. Did they succeed? Not if Bailey and his friends, both two-legged and four-legged, could help it.

Fluke

admin | January 5th, 2011

FlukeA movie that explores the idea of re-incarnation, Fluke is the name of the Golden Retriever which is the new corporeal identity of a man who had died in a car accident.

When Fluke becomes aware of his previous life, he goes in search of his widow and son and tries to make up for what was missing in his previous life with them. Not recommended if you are not in the mood to be moved to think about deep philosophical concepts. Would be a fluke indeed if this movie does not activate your tear ducts.

Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey How long can two dogs travel together with a cat? A very long way indeed in the movie Homeward Bound, The Incredible Journey.

The dogs and the cat went over hill and dale, through thicket and rapids, just to make it home. It would certainly have been easier if they had just stayed where they were but then again, they had to get home somehow, no matter what. Don’t we all? Home is where your heart is.
