Rhubarb

admin | July 19th, 2010

RhubarbRhubarb, a previously unowned cat with a penchant for golf-balls ended up being the sole beneficiary of a millionaire’s estate. Said estate included a baseball team that was not quite touching the bases, so to speak.
However with the cat as owner-cum-mascot, the players on the team found the inspiration to make it to the top of the league. With various diversions and obstructions on the way there as usual. A good movie if you are a baseball fan or a cat-lover. Better still if you are both.

That Darn Cat!

admin | July 19th, 2010

That Darn Cat!In That Darn Cat, the unintentional appearance of a feline passerby led the FBI (Federal Bureau of Incompetence?) on a merry chase round sundry backyards, carparks and even under the bed a few times before the villains were caught.

Maybe the villains gave up because they got tired of being upstaged by a cat. And, mind you, the cat was just passing by on his way to pick up his little tabby and kittens.

The Aristocats

admin | July 19th, 2010

The AristocatsThe movie The Aristocats began with just four cats and ended up with a whole lot more. All despite the efforts of the butler who wanted to remove the cats who preceded him in his employer’s will and ended up being totally removed himself.
Starting in Paris, this movie leads its viewers all over the country-side before getting back to the mansion where it all began. With an explosion in the local feline population.

The Cat From Outer Space

admin | July 19th, 2010

The Cat From Outer SpaceThe Cat from Outer Space landed in 1978. This movie follows the exploits of an alien which crash landed on Earth and had to find enough raw material to repair his spacecraft to get back to the mothership.
Most of the props and much of the storyline would appear amateurish by today’s standards but when it was released, it was good entertainment. Today it is still good for an evening’s casual viewing with the kids.

The Truth About Cats & Dogs

admin | July 19th, 2010

The Truth About Cats & DogsThe movie The Truth about Cats and Dogs was about a lady vet who ran a radio show of the same name. A caller wanted to thank her personally for solving his dog problem and she asked her friend to stand in for her.

Which was quite alright except the caller fell in love with the lady vet over the phone and went out with her stand-in friend. Lots of twists and turns before things got sorted out.
